Endangered Specimens is a project where Experimental Typography students from Lasalle College of the Arts create a typeface inspired by an endangered species. This typeface is named Cone of the Cycad.
The Encephalartos woodii, also known as Wood’s cycad, is a rare cycad in the genus Encephalartos. It is one of the rarest plants in the world, being extinct in the wild with all specimens being clones of the type.
